Color: Golden amber with a slight reddish hue.

Legs: Medium viscosity, slow-moving “legs” that form on the sides of the glass and trickle down after swirling.


Aromas: The initial aromas are influenced by the sherry casks, offering notes of dried fruits (raisins, prunes), woodspice, honey, hints of citrus, ginger, and even chocolate. Very nice soft oakiness, and an elegant malty note.

Complexity: The Macallan 12-year-old Fine Oak nose is known for its beautiful balance. Sherry notes intertwine seamlessly with hints of malty sweetness and subtle oak influences. As the whisky opens up, more subtle aromas may emerge, revealing the depth and complexity of the spirit.


First Sip: Light-bodied with a smooth, silky texture. The initial taste is smooth and rich, with a creamy mouthfeel. Sherry influences come through prominently, offering flavors of dried fruit, honey, and spice.

Development: As you hold the whisky in your mouth, the flavors open up, notes of dried fruit (raisins) emerge alongside hints of wood spice, vanilla and a touch of citrus (orange peel). The oak influence becomes more noticeable, adding a touch of dryness and complexity.

Complexity: The Macallan’s palate is known for its luxurious texture and harmonious balance. Very pleasant light sherry sweetness, oak spice, and subtle fruit notes and malt make for a captivating experience.
